I STARTED DUPLICATE FINDER AND IT KEPT GOING FOR OVER AN HOUR I FINALLY STOPPED IT. IS THAT NORMAL TO GO FOR HOURS? WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I ALLOW IT TO FIND DUPLICATES FOR HOURS? WILL IT STOP SOONER OR LATER? WHEN I SCAN TO CLEAN THERE IS ALWAYS LEFTOVERS NOT CLEANED UP. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? I UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED NINJA BUT THAT DID NOT FIX IT. HELP.
If you’re running duplicate finder across an entire filesystem, it will take a long time. This generally should not be done, as you can do a lot of damage if you don’t know what you’re doing. A healthy Windows install will have many duplicate files.
Sometimes files cannot be cleaned because they are being accessed by another process. If you notice the same files recurring quite frequently, it may be best to exclude them from future scans.
