I’ve posted already several posts on the subjects of plugins that after extracting them to the Plugins folder don’t show up in System Tool tab in Ninja 3.1. With no any response.
Why is that?

September 11, 2015 at 8:25 pm #11132M LawrenceGuestMy plugins don’t work anymore either. I even uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.
September 17, 2015 at 5:24 pm #11137Shane GowlandKeymasterHi M Lawrence, did you try to above steps recommended by Phobos?
September 21, 2015 at 5:24 pm #11139Shane GowlandKeymasterMarek, the password reset issue should now be fixed.
September 23, 2015 at 2:58 pm #11143AnonymousInactiveFolks,
This “solution” is annoying and shouldn’t be necessary, but it works. Many thanks, Phobos.

Agreed. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be much we can do about it, as it’s considered to be a “feature” of the new Windows SmartScreen.
February 4, 2016 at 4:38 am #11429GaryGuestI’m having the same problem (can’t get plugins to appear) but the solution from Phobos doesn’t seem to work for me.
I’m guessing I’m doing it wrongly but can I just check?
It used to be that you just extracted the .dll and .png of the plugin (don’t keep them in their parent folder) into the plugins folder of system ninja. If you do this, the “additional tools” option of system ninja is just blank.
If you delete these files (so the plugins folder is empty), system ninja reports “there are no plugins installed Download plugins” (“download plugins” is a hyperlink which works).
I interpreted Phobos’s instructions as:
- right-click on the plugin .zip file
- “open with” system ninja
- click “yes” to the UAC prompt
This doesn’t seem to do anything more than run system ninja. No plugins get added to the plugins folder.
Do the plugin .zip files need to be in a particular location?
Note: I did see a forum post about plugin problems after going to .NET 4 but that was Aug 2015 and it was implied that the problem was being attended to.
