You don’t need to switch; this version will continue to be just fine.

CCEnhancer will always open the x32 CCleaner. On x64 systems; CCleaner x32 will automatically close itself and launch the x64 binary instead.

As for removing the winapp2.ini file; this will only happen if CCEnhancer is in the same directory as CCleaner, and ccleaner.exe is missing or has been renamed.

My guess is that you’ve deleted ccleaner.exe, under the assumption that you don’t need it on an x64 system. If this is correct; you can either reinstall CCleaner, rename CCleaner64.exe or revert back to CCEnhancer 3.1 or older which doesn’t perform the extra checks.

I have installed .NET Framework version 2.0, and CCEnhancer ran (but did not add to the list of apps as it used to).
    Thanks for your help.

CCEnhancer is written to target .NET 3.5; howevee it should still run under 4.0 without any issue.

I have re-installed Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0_Full, but CCEnhancer won’t run.
Do I need to install an earlier version of Microsoft .NET Framework?

That usually happens when .NET is either missing or corrupt. Try common .NET troubleshooting steps, or just go back to a previous version that worked for you.

Unfortunately Windows Installer (which Java uses) doesn’t have an API to uninstall program manually. Attempting to manually remove it from ‘Add Or Remove Programs’ tend to cause more problems than it solves, so, until we can figure out a work around you will need to run the uninstallers from the commandline first.

/REMOVEOLD may leave two versions of the JRE if you’re using both ‘JRE 6 update 31’ and ‘JRE 7 update 3’

I thought all mums used Internet Explorer. I guess you learn something new everyday.
