I lost all information in .txt file

I open my .txt files with Metrotextual and the information in the file are disappeared. The .txt file is all white, nothing. Is very rare to my. It happened first two month ago (2 .txt files). I was surprised that the files had 0KB when I opened. It wasn’t important information. But today it happened again and in this case it was important. The 3 files  has 50kb or more. I’m put Notepad as default program because I’m afraid that happen again. I’m sad or angry, I don’t now.
