KeymasterJavaRa should be run prior to installing a new version of Java. Run JavaRa again, reboot the computer and perform a clean re-install of JRE 1.7.0.5

GuestHaving “exactly” the same problem as above – tried to remove older versions with JavaRa, rebooted, tried to install latest version (yesterday) and suddenly having the same problem! NOTHING I do works! I have searched the net for similar problems (with solutions)! THIS above is the best description to my own problem! Have even the same version of Java with problems… It sucks

KeymasterTry uninstalling all version of JRE.
Run JavaRa 1.16 and then reboot.
Run JavaRa 2.0 (which has some advanced fixing features) and follow the “Remove JRE” wizard – but skip the first step. This has resolved JRE issues on the vast majority of PC’s I’ve encountered with this issue. It seems like Oracle changed something which is causing it to break.

GuestHi Shane! I’ve tried uninstalling all the JRE versions – didn’t work! I did run the JavaRa 1.16 and rebooted- didn’t remove my versions anyway! Did run the JavaRa 2.0 – (skipping first step) didn’t work! I tried to reboot again to se if something changed, but no! Still have the missing registry key –
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Javasoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.7.0.05 – according to the message I get and “the installation went wrong” or fatal error (I’m having the swedish version)when trying to remove from the control-panel! Have some other ideas?? *sighs*July 5, 2012 at 2:25 am #5845Anonymous
InactiveHi Shane and Ann –
This is not just your problem, but I have the EXACT same error messages, on my XP Pro SP3 from, missing registry key, to fatal error, to the spinning circle that says Java is not installed on this system, also I can not remove it via Add/Remove.
I have attempted to install over the old (not working) version, but the errors still appear. My only change is in cleaning I also got =>

KeymasterAfter purging with Revo Uninstaller; I can get the x32 version to install once again on affected system. The x64 seems to be totally broken still.
I’ll keep looking.

GuestTHANK YOU! I used the Revo Uninstaller and it worked like a charm! I finally got all items removed! Then using JavaRa and rebooted, I could finally install the latest Java RE version! I’m now going to play some games I haven’t been able to play for some days! Thank you again! Your tip was MOST helpful! If I get any problems again I do know who to plea for help! Guest@ Shane Gowland – I have searched the web without finding a relevant site – HOW do I increase the memory in Java VM – some sites says about using the cmd and write: java -Xms64m -Xmx256m – (do you know what I’m writing about?) I have been into the cmd, but really don’t know how to do it! Is it possible just to start writing? I’m not sure I dare! (the java console talks about the game having maxed memory) /Ann

KeymasterThis tutorial was written back in the Windows XP era, but the instructions are still applicable. http://www.duckware.com/pmvr/howtoincreaseappletmemory.html
Make sure you modify the “Java Application Runtime Settings,” not the Applet settings shown in the picture.
Add ‘-Xmx300m’ to the “Runtime Parameters” box. Replace 300 with whatever amount of RAM you wish to allocate; but make sure you don’t go overboard (eg >1024) or else your performance will seriously suffer.
