KeymasterComing up clean at VirusTotal (0/54). https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/3caa3f7ca735cdf1bdf2ea9d86dd28a745d8f40ebc30f2797c45655b70dba984/analysis/1453646941/
Could you please let us know which antivirus is giving you this false positive?

KeymasterI haven’t seen or heard of anything like this before. It might be worth trying to get in touch with Oracle.

KeymasterGlad to hear the thumbnail cleaning issue is sorted.
Could you post the text in the .NET framework error. It’s probably related to that particular ‘System Ninja.exe’ file (it has a lot of testing and debug code) but I just want to make sure it isn’t something more serious.
Thank you for the continued feedback.

KeymasterFix has been implemented.
Those who already have “Folder Config Files” checked will not receive the warning and should uncheck this option to avoid the problem.

Keymaster@Phobos: I’m thinking of disabling the ‘desktop.ini’ cleaning on non-English operating systems, and adding a warning message when a user attempts to re-enable it.
Something like “Cleaning folder configuration files will change some Windows folder names to English.”

KeymasterThat is really odd.
Is this a permanent change, or do they revert back to Russian?

KeymasterThank you for reporting back.
If possible, could you to download this copy of ‘System Ninja.exe’ and replace the one inside System Ninja’s install directory. It contains a fix that should skip over the thumbnail cleaning automatically if it discovers a problem that’s likely to make the program freeze.
Not that the above file is the free version of System Ninja. If you use the Pro version you may need to reinstall later.

KeymasterYou shouldn’t be getting this message at all if you’re running the latest version from October 2015. The text was also corrected in this version.

KeymasterHi Philip,
Between 91% and 92% System Ninja will clean the Windows Temps directory (C:\Users\
\AppData\Local\Temp and C:\Windows\Temp) and the .db files in the thumbnail cache directory (C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\*.db). It’s possible that a corrupt file is causing problems while scanning this area. It could also be a huge number of files in one of those directories are choking System Ninja as it tries to scan.
I would suggest manually navigating to these directories and cleaning out the files.
The most likely offender is the thumbnail caches, so it may be worth unchecking the ‘Thumbnail Caches’ option and seeing if that fixes it. Please confirm if this does indeed resolve the problem so we can investigate possible fixes.

KeymasterHello Dennis,
Making our programs more accessible has been a long-time goal and we’re making small (but important) gains with each new release. System Ninja is the most difficult to adapt, because the user interface components used were developed by a third party.
As you noticed, the core functionality of the program (removing junk files) is largely accessible. With limited development resources, I can’t guarantee that every feature will soon be perfectly accessible – but we are aiming to do a lot better.
