Repeat your steps. There is a problem with the identify of the latest version of JRE. On this my problems ended. Removed 1.6 through the Control Panel windows. Install minecraft — works, launched JRE settings in the control panel — works. In About version is 1.7.

We will think about your problem.

Use Advanced Uninstaller or Revo Uninstaller + JavaRa (Remove Java Runtime -> Next -> Perform Removal Routine) + manual cleaning of the remaining elements in the system. Then install the required version of the JRE.

p.s. Before version 1.7_b40 you had a different version?

    1. When the program updates the database, not understand she did it or not. The progress bar is not an indicator. Maybe we should add a pop-up window for a successful update.

    2. After the update the database, can not be immediately the Download and install latest version of JRE. Download button is not working. If so conceived and need to restart the program after the update, you will still need to go back to the first item. Or fix the button.)

There are two ways to clear the icons in the Metro interface. CCleaner does not use any of these methods. I think the problem in something else.

Uncheck all checkboxes in the category of Windows Store. Uncheck “Windows 8 Start Menu Cache” in the category of Windows.
